College Follies #4, the Elect Pscyhoboy Issue, Is Out!!!

Ladies and Gentleman, College Follies #4 is out now! It's an 8 page yarn about Psychoboy's epic campaign for Congress! Plus, there's an exclusive editorial in the back by Psychoboy himself! All this for only 99 cent!

Click here to get it as a downloadable PDF on DriveThruComics. Click here to get the regular cover as a digital comic on Amusedom and click here to get the nifty digital variant cover (available only on Amusedom).

Psychoboy's online campaign will continue for a couple more weeks. Check out his site, electpsychoboy.com and also look for all the terrific nonsense he's been posting on social media. The best is yet to come as I'll be working on short video ads for Psycho's campaign! Not to spoil too much, but they involve kittens and post-apocalyptic hellscapes!

For the last year it's been my goal to get this issue out before election day. My day job has not made that an easy goal, but it's one I've accomplished with a lot of work and perseverance.

This issue has been submitted to Comixology, which probably won't get it up before next year. It'll be printed up for NC Comicon next month. I plan to make print copies available shortly after that online. They'll be a dollar more than the digital comics, plus shipping fees.

I'll got into what's next for me and the series later, but right now enjoy Psychoboy's election madness. The campaign trail is long, but the destination is totally worth it.

College Follies #4 uploaded for its Wednesday release!

College Follies #4 is done and has been uploaded to both DriveThruComics and Amusedom. It'll be available on both sites on Wednesday! It's not as early in the month as I'd hoped, but you'll still be able to read all about Psychoboy's campaign before Election Day.

It's been submitted to ComiXology too, but their review process takes months, so don't expect to get it on there too soon. I'll be sending it to the printer in the next week or two, so it'll be printed for NC Comicon in November.

Psychoboy will continue posting for the next couple weeks as the election season heats up, so be sure to check out electpsychoboy.com and follow him on social media!

Issue Four Is Done! It'll Be Released This Wednesday!

I finished the final page of issue four's story yesterday. I can't show you much in the way of dialog without spoiling things, so here's a panel without the lettering...

Well, I can at least show you this cropped panel of Stickboy with dialog...

Yup that pretty much sums it up.

I also finished up the letter column, which will features an editorial by Psychoboy himself. It also features a teaser for issue five. I can't show you either of those right now. But I can at least show how cool the header looks with a purple background...

So, what can I tell you?

Well, now that I've completed work on the issue, all I have left to do is proof it and upload it, which I'll do this weekend. So I'm officially announcing that issue four will be available this Wednesday, October 22, for 99 cent on both Amusedom and DriveThruComics!

It's been a long journey to get here. I just got to go a little bit more and I'm done!

College Follies #3 Is Out!!!

College Follies #3, the Power Ranger parody issue, is out! Flip on your TV and adjust your rabbit ears, as Stickboy and Psychoboy transform and kick butt! Chatty monsters, oddly shaped giant robots, colorful costumes, inexplicable scenery changes...this one has it all! It's out as a digital comic on Amusedom and a downloadable PDF on DriveThruComics. It's 13 pages of comedic action, plus an exclusive essay featuring my thought on the Power Ranger franchise, which just turned 21 a few days ago. All that for only $1.99!

It's been submitted to Comixology but I'm still waiting for them to approve issue two, so it may be a little bit before they get issue three up. It will be available in print at conventions for $3, the next one being Winston-Salem Comic Con on Sept. 13. I'll variant cover done by the weekend and up on Amusedom and hopefully printed in time for the convention.

So anyway, stop reading and click on the links below to get the issue already!

Issue Three Uploaded!!!

Darn straight, Psychoboy!

Shoot off some fire works and crank up the Bon Jovi, issue three has been sent to Comixology! It'll go through their review process before going up, but since they accepted College Follies #1 (now on sale) that shouldn't be a problem. The question is when. It's been almost two months since I submitted issue two, so it appears to still be a slow process.

I've also uploaded issue three to Amusedom and DriveThuComics, where I do have control over the release date. It'll be out on Sept 3 on those sites. I'm also prepping it for print so it can be ready for a convention in September, which I'll give you guys the full details of once I've confirmed them.

Work on issue four is going on now, with a mad dash to get it out by the end of October. More details on that soon as Psychoboy prepares to run for office!

Issue Two Is Out Now!!!

Issue two is out as a digital comic on Amusedom and as downloadable PDF on DriveThruComics. Above is the regular cover and to the right is the variant available digitally only on Amusedom. The short story of rumored romance set in the aisles of a Super Happy Mart is only 99 cent! I'm still waiting to hear back from Comixology but since they picked up issue one, I assume they'll do so with issue two (it's just a question of when they'll get it up). And, of course, I'll be selling print copies of both the regular and variant  covers for issue two at Saturday's convention.

So click on the links below and get issue two! Issue one is on all the sites I mentioned (you can get it by clicking here) and issue three will be out starting the first week in September.

Getting College Follies #1 on DriveThruComics...the movie!

This is my latest video showing how to get College Follies #1 on DriveThruComics and what it's like once you get it. It gives the viewer a chance to see what a comic is like as a PDF.

For this I  just pointed the camera at my screen and shot it while talking. The PDF part of it had to be reshot since parts of the image would get wavy once I downloaded the video onto my computer. Not sure why that is. The second take wasn't as bad, there's just a few moment my camera's automatic focus readjusts itself.

And my desktop background is Hadya the Guide from The 99 comics series, in case you were wondering. A video for Amusedom is also on Youtube now and I'll talk about that tomorrow.

Me Announcing College Follies #1's Release In My Kitchen!

So this is a video on the release of College Follies #1 on Amusedom and DriveThruComics and coming this Wednesday to ComiXology. The goofy looking guy in the video goes over all the details, so no need to rehash them here. Please check out the comic and share the video or any links to the comic that can be found here.

This was shot in a corner of my kitchen, one of the few spots in my apartment where there's enough light for it not to be grainy. But I'm not crazy about the lighting and acoustics. I'll try another spot next. Maybe I'll start shooting this stuff outside, I'll just stick the oversized covers to the nearest tree or something.

One thing I am happy with on this video is my ability to walk you guys through the options for what comic is like on the different sites in a visual manner. Turning the camera on my TV (which can act as a monitor for my laptop) and talking as I showed the comic worked well. The transitions on YouTube's Video Editor made it look super slick.

This is what is hopefully the first of several videos promoting the comic's release, so be sure to subscribe to my YouTube Channel to see more videos of me awkwardly talking about stuff!

College Follies will be on Comixology on Wednesday!!!

So I early released the comic yesterday as a downloadable PDF on DriveThruComics and an online digital comic on Amusedom. But then late last night I got an email from Comixology telling me issue one will be up on Wednesday!

Not much else to say other than I was already scrambling to catch up to the early release, so it's taking me a little bit to get situated on this one. But it's very good to know that instead of it taking several months, they got it up in only a month and a half after they accepted it.

I'll. of course, be linking to the comic on Comixology starting on Wednesday. When you buy it on Comixology, it's a digital comic with guided view you can read on both their website and their mobile app.

Those looking to get their virtual hands on the issue before then, click here for direct links to get it now on Amusedom and DriveThruComics! Or you could always click on this nifty image...

College Follies Now Available On Amusedom and DriveThuComics!

College Follies #1 is now available for purchase!

I've early released it on both DriveThruComics and Amusedom! Amusedom is a digital comic format you can read on your web browser and has both the regular and variant cover editions on there. DriveThruComics has PDFs of comics you download to your computer to read. Choose either, choose both...buy more, be happy!

The ComiXology release will be in the next month or two if you'd prefer to get it there. Regardless of where you get it, it's only a $1.99 online! For those wanting print copies, I'm selling those at conventions currently for $2.99 and will open those up to online sales in the fall.

So be the first to buy the issue by clicking on either of the images below! And be sure to drop me a line and let me know what you think!

College Follies #1 Early Release Is Coming In Mid-June!

Okay, so to let you guys know, in just over a week College Follies #1 will be available on both DriveThruComics as a downloadable PDF and on Amusedom as a web-only digital comic without guided view. This is for folks who would like to get it early before the ComiXology release later this year (or heck, if you want to buy a version on every site, feel free, I certainly won't stop you).

A week from now I'll be submitting College Follies #1 for review on DriveThruComics. According to their site, it could up as early as next Friday or may go live sometime the week after that. I'll have control over the exact date when the others go live, but for the first one they'll be looking it over and it'll go live when they're done. When that happens I'll make the Amusedom version go live and let you guys know.

As for the rest of the series, while I can't control ComiXology's release schedule,  here is the schedule for the early releases on DriveThru and Amusedom...

Issue Two- July 16

Issue Three- September 3

Issue Four- October 1

Issue Five- Early 2015

College Follies' Release: What's Next?

As I've posted previously, College Follies #1 was accepted by ComiXology on April 28. Their site says it takes several months to get it up and that they'll email me a week before it goes live.  The first issue being released for computers and mobile devices by the world's largest digital comic distributor is a huge step.

But until then I've still got plenty of work to do on the release of the series, along with working on issue three (the Power Ranger parody issue, which should be completed by July). The work includes:

Issue Two- I need to change the font for issue two from Comic Sans, which is a font ComiXology doesn't allow. I want to submit issue two to them as soon as I can in case it takes awhile for them to review and process it.

Advance PDF release- I also need to submit to Drivethru Comics, which sales downloadable PDFs of comics. Drivethru examines the first issue and then lets you control when the rest go live. They prefer for comics to premier on their site, so I'll be doing an advance releases on their site first. Now I won't have control over when the first issue goes live, so whenever it does go live, I'll let you guys know. Submission should be a cinch, it's just organizing and resaving my PDFs for the comic in a certain way.

Advance Digital Comic Release- The web-only digital comic version for Amuesdom.com is ready to go, it just needs a few adjustments. When Drivethru goes live, I'll have Amusedom go live, giving you two options to get  the comic in advance ahead of the Comixology release. Amusedom doesn't have guided view like ComiXology but it's a solid digital comic format that lets me put whatever I want online instantly. I'll even have the variant cover available on there if you'd rather get that one.

Promotional stuff- I'll need to make some changes to the blog and get promotional images together to post. I think I'll even put a sketch book for issue one on Amusedom, which will be cool. I've also have to write a press release and figure out who to send it to.

None of this takes a lot of time, but on top of producing issue three, it can be a lot. I'm going try to pace myself so I can put out new pages and still get all this done on top of my day job and having some semblance of a life.

I wish I had release dates to share, but I'll be shouting from the rooftops when I get the word. So follow me on Facebook, Google+, Twitter or this blog for updates.
